In addition to fine physicians and cutting-edge technology, a fundamental aspect of effective medical care is the care and compassion that is brought to the bedside. That culture of caring is hardwired into all levels of our staff and services, and our success is evident in the many national awards recognizing our achievements in patient care quality, safety, culture and patient satisfaction. To provide a better perspective of the significance of these awards, we created the map to the left showing the locations of the more than 5,000 hospitals currently operating in the United States. All hospitals, even those in big cities or those that are part of a large corporate network or university, are included in the assessment of patient outcomes and care. So it is an enormous honor for GRMC, an independent small-town facility, to repeatedly be in the top percentage of national recognition! Our most recent awards The Women’s Choice Award has deemed GRMC to be in the top 2% of the nation’s hospitals for patient safety for the second year in a row, named GRMC as one of America’s BEST hospitals for obstetrics and placed GRMC in the top 5% of all hospitals in the nation. Leapfrog graded GRMC as an “A” for meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S. Modern Healthcare has again recognized GRMC as one of the best healthcare employers in the nation, this year naming us 25th in the whole country for Best Places to Work in Healthcare! “From the time that I walked into the emergency room, I was treated nice by all the staff that was there on duty.
