Guadalupe Regional Medical Center | Health Currents | Winter 2021

Invested in your care The word investing is often associated with money and stock markets, but its broader (and more poetic) meaning is to devote one’s efforts into a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result. My life’s work at GRMC has been to invest deeply into our people, our facility, our equipment and our culture. I take this mission seriously, and I am pleased to see that our investments in time, attention, expenditures and relationships have certainly paid off with exceptional results. Those results are evident in the national awards we receive, in the fact that our technology and equipment are first-class, in the knowledge that our physicians and staff are proud of being part of this team, and most importantly, in the knowledge that we are making a positive difference for the patients and families we are privileged to serve. As we continue to map our future, you can trust that GRMC will continue to invest deeply in the health and welfare of our hospital and community. We are well aware there is no finish line on this journey—our quest for excellence is never complete. Looking ahead The start of a new year provides a literal and symbolic opportunity to start fresh and to look forward to new visions, plans and resolutions. Certainly, that sentiment is universally strong this year as we flip the calendar to a fresh slate in 2021! Guadalupe Regional Medical Foundation (GRMF) is planning ahead in our efforts to provide long-term financial support for the hospital. We have developed an endowment fund to provide a perpetual reserve to help finance new projects. One of the many ways that donors can contribute to the healthcare of our community is to designate contributions to be part of that endowment fund. That way your gift truly keeps on giving, as we only use the interest proceeds of this fund. Now that GRMF and its many generous donors have helped to fund the Women’s Imaging Center, our next target is to upgrade the cardiac monitoring system used extensively throughout the hospital.
